Set up Search

It is possible to have too much of a good thing. As you continue adding more dazzling designs and great product offerings to your store, it can quickly become confusing for visitors. While creating menus may help, what customers ultimately want is to find what they need quickly and easily. The Site Search feature can help. Follow the steps below to set up search and tracking for all active launches.

Open your store settings and check the "Show store search bar" field.

That was easy, wasn't it?

Next, we strongly advise that you set up tracking through Google Analytics. While it does not affect the user experience of Site Search, Google's free tracking tool will help you better understand what tags your visitors are searching for, buying, and ultimately what changes you should make to accomodate.

1. Log in to analytics.google.com

2. Go to Admin at the bottom of the menu

5. Set Query paramater to “q” and select checkbox to Strip query parameters out of URL

6. Save

An additional step we advise you take is filtering words based on case usage. Your visitors will undoubtedly use upper and lower case letters in an unpredictable manner. Without the proper filters set up, Google treats "bags" and "Bags" differently. Check out this article on how to set GA to count each variation of a search as a single search
